About the Training Department


Community Adult Education

At our purpose built location at Ocean Quay we run a daily Community Education Programme. This is tailored to meet the needs of a variety of individuals and our tutors are skilled in supporting vulnerable adults, individuals with educational needs, or those wishing to train in a smaller and more community focussed education environment.

What We Offer:

• Entry Level 3, Level 1 & 2 Nationally Recognised Accredited Qualifications
• Subjects including; Mentoring, ICT, Personal Development, Communication Skills
• A Supportive Community Environment

Who We Train:

• Individuals looking to gain accredited qualifications to boost employment and life opportunities
• Individuals who might benefit from training in a smaller supportive environment, e.g. those with special educational needs, low self-esteem/confidence, previous behavioural issues including offending behaviour or substance misuse
• We are not able to support those with current substance/alcohol misusing behaviour or complex mental health issues*

Professional Training

Our specialist tutoring team have been delivering professional training in a variety of therapeutic interventions for over a decade. We offer a programme of day and evening training courses for those interested in working in counselling or substance misuse practitioner fields, or wanting to add professional development events/workshops to your CV.

What We Offer:

• Accredited Counselling Courses
• Access to Higher Education Diploma: Practitioner in Substance Misuse
• A Range of 1,2, & 3 Day Training Courses and CPD Workshops

Who We Train:

• Current professionals or those looking to develop future career prospects
• Individuals interested in therapeutic fields who wish to gain qualifications/experience
• Due to the interpersonal nature of these courses they are not suitable for individuals who are experiencing current emotional difficulties or in recent substance misuse recovery*
