Broadreach

Broadreach offers residential treatment to men and women aged over 18, who have problems with alcohol and/or drugs.

The holistic programme is delivered in a safe drug and alcohol free environment. It includes assisted withdrawal/detox from alcohol, opiates, benzodiazepines and other drugs. For local people, a stabilisation programme is also offered. Our team of doctors and nurses will explain your detox/stabilisation regime to you and our very experienced nurses and support workers will offer support and reassurance at every stage of the process.

During your treatment you will also work with counsellors, both individually and in groups, on understanding your alcohol or drug use, strengthening your motivation and building your confidence to change. Your allocated counselling team will work with you on your treatment plan and help you create goals for during and after treatment.

In 2007-08 Broadreach underwent a major refurbishment programme, including the provision of single room accommodation for the majority of clients. There are now 20 single rooms, mostly ensuite, and 5 double occupancy rooms all ensuite. Group rooms, lounge and games room have also been refurbished, including new furniture and games equipment.

The programme has also been redeveloped, with additional support offered in the following three areas: Education, such as literacy, numeracy, budgeting and managing finances; Health, such as BBV awareness and basic life support training; and Communication, redeveloping the existing programmes of relapse prevention, management of anger, anxiety and stress, parenting skills to name but a few.

Broadreach can also now accommodate couples seeking treatment, and there is access to the gym at our Ocean Quay day service.

The emphasis throughout treatment is on supporting you in building or rebuilding a life about which you can feel happy and proud. Our aim is for you to leave Broadreach free from chaotic alcohol and/or drug use with the knowledge, understanding and skills to continue to make progress towards your goals.
