Day Services
This is an exciting project now in it's second year, and clients have been, and will continue to be, active in both the planning and delivery of the service. Some of the recent initiatives which have been developed and arranged by the service users with staff support have included the production of a newsletter, woodwork and furniture restoration, building a website (a link will be included on this site when it is complete), and mini bus trips to several places of interest. A photography project is in the planning stages along with other arts activities. Educational courses run throughout the year and form part of a structured daily programme which includes:
Comprehensive assessment
Support groups and group therapy
Groups specific to men and women
Courses specific to health and well-being
Individual support and counselling
Specialist therapeutic interventions for clients with specific needs
Relapse prevention and management
Stress management skills training
Vocational training courses run in conjunction with local educational services
Resettlement, housing and welfare benefits advice
Legal advice, including debt counselling
Voluntary work opportunities
Social events, leisure and sporting activities
Life skills training
Careers Advice and further education guidance
Parenting skills programme
As well as structured activities we run a drop-in service, which is open between 9am and 5pm (with some evening activities to be scheduled when staffing allows), and we also operate a policy of proactive re-engagement with service users who drop out of the programme due to relapse.
This service has been extremely well received since opening , and we are already fundraising hard to expand the project.
